List more parameters, e.g. port names assigned to a switch

List more parameters, e.g. port names assigned to a switch   09 February 2016, 08:24

Would it be possible to have the program list further parameters, at your own selection, notably the port names assigned to a switch? That certainly would be convenient to track down problems.

Thanks

Yes, but I am not quite sure what are you asking for:
  1. Extracting additional columns from ifTable? or
  2. Assigning your own comments/names to a port?

Could you please clarify?

I'm referring to the port parameter "name" in our HP 4104 and 4108 switches.

There's no way of knowing where the names come from without having the actual hardware.

We might be able to add them if we had a full SNMP tree from your switch. If possible, please run snmpwalk on the switch and send us the output.
The added Port alias in the recent update was exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much. Very useful when we have to track down rogue DHCP servers on our LAN.
