NetWorx doesn't see UWP apps like Microsoft Edge
You may notice that when the Ignore local traffic within the LAN option is enabled, Universal Windows Platform apps such as Microsoft Edge are not recorded in the list of applications.
This occurs because the TDI driver that NetWorx uses to filter out LAN traffic doesn’t support those apps. If you need to monitor such apps, you should reinstall NetWorx with WFP driver as described below:
- Backup your usage records through Usage Records – Backup. This will backup your configuration as well.
- Uninstall NetWorx and reboot.
- Install NetWorx again and choose WFP implementation under LAN Traffic Filtering Driver.
- Restore your usage and configuration through Usage Records – Restore using the file you created in step 1.
Now you should be able to monitor the usage of Microsoft Edge and other UWP apps.
We don’t install the WFP driver by default because there are known issues with certain third-party products, but chances are it may work well for you. If something doesn’t work as expected, you can revert to the default TDI driver.
