The RAM disk is mounted by a driver that starts long before services start. These processes happen in parallel, so a service may already be running, but a RAM disk is still not ready. The only workaround I can think of is a simple batch script that checks once a minute whether the drive letter exists. If the VPN adapter isn't shown in the list of adapters, you can still manually enter the required IP address and scan it normally, as shown below. The Network Scanner itself doesn't make any routing decisions, and scanning those addresses should work the same way Windows works with them.

It could be caused by the situation described here: Unstable connection or errors caused by ignoring LAN traffic. Try unchecking the "Ignore local traffic within the LAN" setting to see if it resolves the problem. It is indeed unfortunate that there is no other information about the issue, such as reports or messages, because in this situation it is really difficult to diagnose and subsequently fix the problem. We will run some more tests, but obviously there is no guaranteed outcome. There are plans to bring macOS version of NetWorx closer to its Windows sibling, but as of now they are far from equal.

As suggested before, you can try: Unchecking Check for write access on the Shares tab in Options. Unchecking all items in Remote File. Alternatively, you can set Max. thread run-time on the General tab in Options to something around 60 sec, and the application will attempt to terminate those stuck threads.

To change the language of the app, open the Help menu (that is the menu item at the very top of the WiFi Guard window, not the Help toolbar button with an icon), then open the Language submenu, and then select your language form the list. After that, restart the app to apply the new language.

Unlike a real physical disk, a RAM disk is a software-created representation of a hard disk in memory, and it doesn't really exist before the system boots. Which means Windows must boot first, from a physical disk. You can however place virtual machine software on a RAM disk and boot other instances of Windows (or any other systems) in those virtual machines from the RAM disk.

The filtering driver enables monitoring usage by application (e.g. how much data particular applications use on your computer). Yes, you can install our Network Scanner on a USB stick and use it whenever and wherever you need. The most common scenario is when a technician visits the customers and runs the software from his/her USB stick on different computers as required. Your router may be using a so-called wireless client isolation or session isolation, which means the clients cannot see each other over the network. There should be a setting in the router's web-interface to turn this feature on and off.

It is indeed a small issue. It happens due to the code that draws the histogram treating pure the white colour as transparent. The simplest solution for this is to go to the Graph Colours tab in the NetWorx Settings and choose an off-white colour for the background (e.g. Ghost white or Snow). It will look white in your tray/notification area, and will fix the problem.

The XML files Network Scanner generates are not designed to be loaded into MS Excel. Simply save the results as CSV or HTML - they are better suited for MS Office.

Thank you. It turned out that these models return the MAC address in their CDP info in binary rather than in ASCII as the standard prescribes. These two ranges in your XML file overlap, from 100 to 199 in the lowest octet: 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.255 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.199 Your computer (192.168.0.105) is in the overlap, so it is scanned and found twice.

This could be because it is connected twice, e.g. by a network card and WiFi, but usually in that case the IP address and MAC address are different. Does this happen every time you scan? If so, could you please provide the IP range(s) you are scanning?
