Networx on Mac shuts down unexpectedly   19 May 2018, 20:11

I have Networx 1.0.3 on a MacBook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.4. Although Networx appears to run fine, it will occasionally just shutdown for no apparent reason and has to be restarted.

Also, Networx occasionally appears to stall with the "busy" rotating coloured ball being displayed, for example if I go into Help, About or other options from the menu. Then it is impossible to close Networx and trying to Force Quit the application from the Apple logo - Networx never appears in the list so it is impossible to force quit. Thus the only way to recover is to close the laptop and restart. Very frustrating.

Any suggestions or updates to cure these problems please?

Thank you for reporting these issues. We would like to investigate why this happens and fix the problem. Is there any crash report or error message that could shed light on why this happens?

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, there is no error report produced for either situation and I have no idea what other information may be helpful to you.

For the first problem, Networx just suddenly disappears and has to be restarted and for the second problem, there seems to be no alternative but to restart the laptop.

Out of interest when doing a Command + Tab keypress to switch between programs on the Mac, Networx never appears in the list of programs running. I am not sure if this is expected or not.

I wish Networx worked properly on the Mac under OS as I also use it very successfully on PCs running Windows 10.

It is indeed unfortunate that there is no other information about the issue, such as reports or messages, because in this situation it is really difficult to diagnose and subsequently fix the problem. We will run some more tests, but obviously there is no guaranteed outcome.

There are plans to bring macOS version of NetWorx closer to its Windows sibling, but as of now they are far from equal. Windows NetWorx has been in active and successful development for almost 16 years, while the macOS version is just over a year old, plus some functions simply cannot be implemented identically in macOS and Windows purely due to tho the inherent differences between these OS. We will try our best though smile
