Bandwidth Manager and ISA Server 2000   16 May 2006, 18:39

Hello,
I have a P4 1.8 machine with 2 lan cards and Windows 2000 Server and MS ISA server 2000 installed on it. I use dialup 56k for uplink and Satellite 200kpbs connection for downlink. Everything is perfect and works fine. I tried use Bandwidth Manager trial version on it. Installed the software, it says to reboot machin, I did the same but after reboot no internet browsing is available neither on the server nor on any client machine. The internet connection - both uplink and downlink connected successfuly but no browsing or internet traffic is available. There were no rules created in the Bandwidth manager. For testing I created a rule to allow all protocols with unlimited traffic on any interface, but the internet still didn't work. I uninstalled the bandwidth manager, rebooted the machine and everything worked fine as before.
Please tell me what would be the problem?
Thank you.

I am not sure. Generally, the bandwidth manager is compatible with the ISA server. However, if it does not work for any reason, try to follow this advice.

Hope this helps.

Re: Bandwidht Manager not working through ISA Server 2000   18 May 2006, 17:17

OK, I understand the problem i.e., Sygate Personal Firewall is installed on my server machine thats why bw is not working.
But the solution says the given package will only run on Windows 2k3 or Xp, but my machine has Windows 2000. So I have to install Windows 2k3 or have to wait till the given package is compatible with 2k.
Or if there is any possibility to run the specified package with windows 2k?
Thank you.

Sorry, this solution is available for Windows 2000. So, there are two choices: install Windows XP/2003 or uninstall Sygate and use another firewall instead.

I don't understand why you use Sygate with ISA, when ISA is also a firewall ?

BWM is compatible with MS ISA sever. However, if there are some issues, you can use alternative solution.
