Thats the way I have it set-up at the moment,
however its not ideal for me, I normally use the MAC Address method cause all somebody has to do, is change the IP address to one not in the rule and they get around it (I can't block them from doing this as it is thier own computers).
Hence why global qoutas would be a good idea I think.
---------------------
My reason for wanting this (more detailed)
One of the two people I live with pays me for half my bandwidth usage per month (6GB peak/12gb off-peak)
This bandwidth is shared between him and another person. (using two different computers) Both are tech savvy, and could as I said, could change the IP address to get around this.
Hence the need for global quotas, that way I can have two rules, set to MAC address and it can't be cheated.

I'm glad.
I would of thought global quota's would be good, but MAC groups will work just as good.
Thanks for a great software (saving up to purchase - $150 is a lot of money for me - using trial for the time being).
Hopefully we see this soon, as it will make this product better then it already is.

I haven't set up this program yet -- I'm searching the web for something and this seems like a possible solution. I would like to configure this like a wifi hotspot. So someone gets the wifi signal and sees a login page. At that point, they can login with an account/password that we create and they have all the rights/limits of their account. Is this possible?
Thanks
Thanks

Sorry to bring this up again but I once again request the ability to have global quotas. I know you are going to have mac/ip groups, which is also helpful but global quotas would be aswell.
My reason for this:
I have Internet Gateway machine with Bandwidth Manager installed.
I also have my main system.
The Gateway machine is also my download box, hence why I need global quotas. I tried setting up a loop-back adapter in windows and route my downloads through it (to match the rule in BWM) but it was unsuccessful
(Sorry if my post is a bit unclear, I'm a bit tired after spending hours trying to work this out)

I am sorry, but global quotas do not seem to be useful if groups of addresses are available. If you contact me by e-mail, I can send you an URL to our new release of the SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager. It has not been tested in full, but seems to be stable. It includes groups support, so you can bind a rule with a group of up to 255 MAC addresses (as well as 255 separate IP addresses and IP ranges). By using this mechanism you can simualte global qoutas behaviour easily.
