Maintain network share on startup

Maintain network share on startup   20 December 2015, 05:56

I'm using RAM Disk for live TV timeshifting for a few clients around the house. I've set up a "timeshift" folder within my RAM Disk and shared it with the relevant user on the network.

If I restart the PC, the drive and folder are created successfully but I have to manually share the folder again.

Is there a way to share the drive/folders created by RAM Disk automatically when the machine starts up?

Are you using a boot-time or logon-time RAM Disk? Also what Windows version?

Currently a logon-time RAM Disk and I'm using Windows 10. RAM Disk version 3.4.7.

Perhaps it appears too late and Windows thinks the drive has disappeared and removes the share. Try using a boot-time RAM Disk instead.

OK that works if I share the root of the RAM Disk but not for any sub folders created within it. But I guess that's OK for my purposes as I only want to use it for one thing so don't really have any need for any sub folders.

Thanks.
