Missing data in CSV   09 February 2016, 20:28

Hi,

When I run a scan in the GUI all the Data appears properly. I'm looking for the Hostname, IP, MAC, and Windows Name.
But if I run the scanner through command line with options:
/config
/hide
/range
/cols
/auto
then the MAC-Address for some clients is missing in the CSV File. But not always the same clients.

What are the MAC address resolution settings in the config file that you feed in? Also what version of the software are you using?

The Method Order is:
  • ARP query
  • NetBios query
I've also tried it with NetBIOS first.

I'm using the latest version of the Scanner. I've updated because of the issue.

There's a chance of missing MAC addresses when scanning a different subnet, because the app uses a NetBios query and it only works for the devices that have it enabled.

Is this what you are doing?

Hi Andrew

I don't think it is a client issue, since it's random. It's always another client that misses the MAC. Also, if I run the scan through the GUI I get all the MAC's as I should.

This is really strange as the CSV exports merely takes whatever is shown in the GUI and writes it down to a file. What about other exports: text, XML, HTML? Do they also miss a MAC address?
